A Few Facts About Albuquerque & New Mexico USA...

New Mexico IS part of the United States of America! We're located between Texas & Arizona and Colorado and Old Mexico. Santa Fe is NOT in Arizona... its OUR State Capitol!

You'll find Chili in Texas along with assorted other Tex-Mex foods. In New Mexico you'll get REAL Chile ~ Hot, Medium & Mild and either green or red from the pepper plant and it is nothing like Tex-Mex! OUR cuisine is the finest in the Southwest blending native and hispanic cultures like nowhere else!

New Mexico is the fifth largest state in the Continental U.S. yet it is among the most sparsely populated with an estimated 2.0 million people.

After setting aside the land area controlled by Federal, State and Local Governments, (including forests and other monuments and preserves, recreational set asides, indian reservations, military installations and the like) there is only an estimated one-third remaining in fee simple title.

Of that one-third, it is estimated that approximately two-thirds has no immediate access to water supplies or even transportation networks. That which remains is essentially what makes up the various cities and towns that presently dot the state.

Rounding out the math, most of that 2.0 million people is distributed over just roughly 11% of the total land area of the entire state.

We are a part of the high Chihuahuan Desert, but with only 11% of the total land available for consumption, its no wonder our real estate prices aren't so desert cheap!

Albuquerque At Night

Albuquerque is the center of wholesale and retail trade for the state. The MSA contains approximately one third of the state's population.

Located here is the Albuquerque International Airport, The University of New Mexico Main Campus and South Sports Complex, Sandia National Laboratories and Kirtland Air Force Base, Rio Grande Zoological Park and companion Biological Park and Aquarium.

The Triple A Baseball Team known as the Albuquerque Isotopes of the Los Angeles Dodgers Organization is now playing in a fabulous $25 million remodeled stadium located a short distance from the Airport.

The community is bordered by the southerly extension of the Rocky Mountains and the Rio Grande River meanders through the center of town along with a significant riparian forest which offers much relief to the high desert surroundings. Much of the city is located at or above one mile above sea level - same as Denver, Colorado.
